Amalaki Ekadasi on 16 March 2011

Amalaki Ekadasi 2011 date is 16 March 2011, Wednesday (today). It is observed on Shukla Paksha Ekadasi day in Falgun month as per all Hindu lunar calendars. Ekadasi begins on 15 March at 3.30 pm and ends at 1.24 hrs afternoon on 16 March 2011. Amalaki Ekadasi is an auspicious day to worship Amalaki tree.

Amalaki Ekadasi vrat katha is associated with King Chitraratha. The story is mentioned in Brahma Purana as a conversation between Vasista maharshi and King Mandhatha.

On Amalaki Ekadasi, many temple festivals are celebrated. Korukonda Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple Theertham (Swamivari Kalyanam) is celebrated today. Teppotsavam is also celebrated in Tirumala Tirupati Balaji temple.
