Sri Lalita Tripurasundari Devi is the 6th day Alankaram in Vijayawada Dasara Navaratri 2016, 6 October – Lalita Panchami. During Dasara Sharan Navaratri of Kanakadurga Temple, each day one of the forms of Goddess Durga is worshipped.
Goddess Lalita represents the Panchabhuta (five basic elements) of the Universe. Panchabhutas are – air, water, fire, earth and space (Vayu, Jala, Agni, Bhumi and Akasha). Lalitha Devi is also associated with Sri Chakra, the ultimate Chakra representing the origin and existence of the universe.
On sixth day this year, Kanakadurga Mata is decorated in the form of Sri Lalita Tripurasundari Devi and worshipped. This Shashti Navratri falls on Ashwayuja Shukla Paksha Shashti tithi.
