In the morning you have to go to nearby Ganapathi Temple and get his blessing. There are 2 ways to fast. 1. Fast from morning till evening. You can drink milk, tea or coffee i.e any liquid and after evening deeparathana you can have full meal preferably without salt. 2 way is fast by taking fruits and milk then in the evening you can break fast after evening deeparathana you can have full meal preferably without salt. When you fast you can chant Sankadanasana sostram, namavali etc.On that day evening we should also do archana or pooja for Chandra Bagavan. I hope I have given you clear picture.

You can also go to Ganapathi Temple on Tuesdays and pray but of course you need to fast.
