Surya Grahan January 2010 – Annular Solar Eclipse on January 15 in 2010

On January 15, 2010, Surya Grahan will occur. This is known as annular solar eclipse. It is visible in some parts of India. This Surya Grahan will be visible in much of Africa, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia. In India, it will be visible in South Kerala and South Tamil Nadu. The Grahan will also be visible in North Sri Lanka, Burma and China. It is considered as important Grahan as it is falls on Pongal (Makar Sankranti) day.

Surya grahan jan 2010Surya Grahan kaal or Solar Eclipse time or timings on January 15, 2010:

As per Indian Standard Time (IST), the Surya Grahan time is at 1.20 hrs afternoon. The greatest eclipse point will occur at 07:07:39 Universal Time.

As per Hindu Astrologers, the Surya Grahan time is:

  • Surya Grahan Sparsha kaal – 11.29 hrs morning
  • Surya Grahana Madhya kaal – 1.22 hrs afternoon
  • Surya grahana moksha kaal – 3.15 hrs afternoon
  • Surya grahanam adhyantha punya kaal – 3.46 hrs afternoon

    I want to know if Dec 31 and Jan 15 eclipse have any effect on pregnant women in USA. I know both the eclipses are not visible here. Still should pregnant women take any precaution in USA.

    Surya Grahan of Jan 15, 2010, has its effects on all cities and areas in India… It is the longest Surya Grahan for about 3 and a half hours…
