MahaLakshmi Puja during Navratri

Sharad Navratri is dedicated to Trimatas, three Supreme Goddesses – Bhavani, Mahalakshmi and Maha Saraswati. Each Goddess is worshipped in a set of three days which are called Triratri vrata. During first three days Goddess Bhavani is worshipped. In second set of three days – fourth, fifth and sixth days – Goddess Lakshmi Puja and during last three days Saraswati Puja is performed. The Goddess is worshipped on Maha Chaturthi, Maha Panchami and Maha Shashti.

Mahalakshmi is the Goddess of wealth and prosperity. Those who perform Mahalakshmi vrata during Navratri will get the blessings of the Goddess and lead their life with happiness and prosperity.

Goddess Durga is decorated and worshipped in Mahalakshmi alankaram during Navaratri in Vijayawada Kanakadurga temple and some other prominent temples throughout India. In Kolhapur Mahalakshmi temple, one of the Astadasha Shakti Peetha, Navratri puja is celebrated with utmost fervor. In Mahalakshmi temple at Mumbai also lakshmi is worshipped with much gusto during Navratri.

Ashtalakshmi temples located in Chennai and Hyderabad also have top place as prominent Lakshmi temples in which the festive days are celebrated with much devotion.
