Brahmacharini Navdurga – Apperance and Dhyana Mantra

Brahmacharini Mata is the second among Navadurga Goddess, nine Mother deities worshipped during Durga Navratri. Goddess Brahmacharini is worshipped on second day during Navaratri. In 2009, the date of Brahmacharini Maa Pooja is September 20.

Appearance and Iconography of Brahmacharini:

Brahmacharini mata, the second manifestation of Navdurga (Nine Goddesses worshipped during Navratri), appears in a simple form. Brahmacharini wears a white and baby pink saree and looks very calm in nature. Mata Bramhacharini holds a Kamandal (pitcher) in her left hand and a Japamala (rosary) in her left hand.

Dyana Mantra of Brahmacharini:

Brahmacharini Dhyana mantra is recited on the second day of Durga Navratri.

Dadhanakara Padmabhyam akshamala kamandalam

Devi prasidathu mayi brahmacharinya nuththama
