Timings of Chandra Grahan or the time of partial lunar eclipse on August 6 is in the early morning – grahan begins at 4.10 and the eclipse ends at 7.45. In South Indian cities like Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore (Karnataka), Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam and Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Chennai and Madurai (Tamil Nadu) and Trivandrum (Kerala) may view the Madhya Chaya Chandra Grahan (Shallow Lunar Eclipse).

Partial Lunar Eclipse or Pakshik Madhya Chaya Chandra Grahan will take place on August 6 in 2009. This lunar eclipse, termed as Madhya Chaya Chandra Grahan (Pakshik Chandra Grahan) is partially visible in India. This penumbral partial lunar eclipse will take place at the time of moon set i.e in the early morning. Though, the Chandra Grahan is not visible to naked eye, the grahanam will take place in India. This Lunar Eclipse of August 6 in 2009 is not much important as per Hindu Astrology.
