Santan Saptami Vrat – Bhadrapad Sapthami

Santan Saptami festival is observed on the seventh day of Shukla paksha in Bhadrapad month. In 2009, the date of Santan Sapthami is August 26. On Santan Saptami day, women keep fasting for the health and wellness of their children. During the Bhadra Sapthami vrata, women worship their ‘Kula Devata’ and offer special recipes to them. Special stotras and prayers are recited during the festival.

Those who are not blessed with children perform Santan Saptami puja to get children. They offer seven types of special recipes to God. On Santan Sapthami, women get blessings from their mothers-in-law.
