Rushi Panchami 2010 – Rishi Panchami Vrata in 2010

Rishi Panchami, also known as Rushi Panchami, is observed on the next day after Ganesh Chaturthi in Shukla Paksha during Bhadrapada month (August – September). Rushi Panchami 2010 date is September 12. In fact, Rishi Panchami is not a festival, but a vrata or puja to be performed by women. Rishi Panchami puja is mainly dedicated to Saptarshis or Sapta Rishis – seven sages.

On Rushi Panchami, women observe vrata to pay their respect and gratitude towards ancient Rishis or sages. Observing Rishi Panchami vratha makes the devotee free from all sins committed in the life. Rushi Panchami puja is performed by unmarried and married women. Unmarried women observe Rushi Panchami puja to get rid of the bad effects during their menstrual cycle or period.
