Khairatabad Mammoth Ganesh Idol for Ganesh Chaturthi Festival 2009

Khairatabad Ganesh idol in Hyderabad is the largest Ganesh idol in India for every Ganesh Chaturthi or Ganesh Navratri. As every time, in 2009, this year, it will be the largest once again with 45 feet height. In 2009, this mammoth Ganapati is called as Matsya Vinayaka. Andhra Pradesh is struggling with drought during this year, hence the Khairatabad Ganesh Utsava Committee have planned to prepare Vinayaka idol with a concept of water.

Mr. Sudarshan, Organizer of Khairatabad Mammoth Ganesh Utsav Committee, addressed the media and explained about the concept of Matsya Ganesh mammoth idol and other details about constructing the idol. He said, “It will take approximately two months to complete the mammoth Ganapati. Totally, 80 people are working for the idol. The height of the idol will be 45 feet. The idol will be ready by June 20.”
