Importance, Legend and Merits of Savitri Chatuurdashi:
Sabitri Chaturdashi is a festival of married women. On this day, married women observe fasting for a blissful married life. Married women believe that the observance of Sabitri Chaturdasi Vrata would provide their husbands healthy and longer life.

In some regions, devotees perform Savitri Chaturdashi Vrat for 14 successive years. As similar to Vat Savitri Vrata and Savitri Amavasya Vrata, Sabitri Chaturdashi Vrata is also associated with the story of Sati Savitri and Satyavant. The great legend of Savitri and Satyavant tells the story – how Satyavan got rid of death and regained his kingdom with the great devotion and dedication of his wife Savitri. Puranas explain that Savitri’s story is an inspiration for every married woman.
