Savitri Brata, popularly referred as Savithri Amavasya Vrata, is a regional festival observed in Orissa and some other Eastern regions of India. Savitri Brata is observed on the Amavasya day in Jyeshta month (usually April – May).

On the day of Savitri Brata, married women recite the Sabitri Brata Katha – the legend of Savitri and Satyavan.
